Why I Started Sunset Haven Scent Co. — A Story Built With Heart
Some businesses start with a big idea. Mine started with a feeling.
Home has always been my place to reset — to breathe, to feel safe. And somewhere along the way, I discovered that scent has a quiet kind of power. A single fragrance can completely transform a space. It can make an ordinary Tuesday morning feel comforting, bring back a memory you didn't know you were holding onto, or simply make a room feel like yours. That's what I fell in love with.
Sunset Haven Scent Co. didn't begin as a grand business plan. It began because I needed something of my own — something meaningful, something I could build with my hands, and something that could carry a little comfort into other people's lives too.
Every wax melt I make is hand-poured with intention. Before I pour, I think about the feeling it's meant to create — the slow Sunday mornings, the quiet evenings after a long day, the small moments at home that somehow end up meaning everything.
Scent Is a Time Machine
Take our Sundae Parlor melt, for example. The moment it fills a room, I'm not in my kitchen anymore — I'm five years old in a small town in Germany, holding my Oma's hand on the way to the ice cream stand. That's the magic of scent. It doesn't just smell good. It takes you somewhere.
That's what I want every melt to do — take your nose and your memory on an adventure you'd forgotten about.
More Than a Shop
There's something else close to my heart that lives inside this business: animals. When I'm able to, a portion of sales goes toward rescuing and caring for animals in need. It's a small way of giving back, but it means the world to me to be able to do it through something I've built myself.
